Eden Project, 2003
PVA labculture project - spent one week at Eden project with 9 other artists using digital techonology (video, DVD, sound editing, animation) to produce work...see edenproject for more information

South West Arts Annual Award 2002
Awarded £2,000 to enable me to explore the use of large format digital prints and produce work for show at Centrespace, Bristol in May 2002.

ALIAS Research 1999, The Netherlands
Awarded SWA travel expenses for research trip to the Netherlands. Visited 10 artists initiatives in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Tilburg.

De Fabriek, Eindhoven 1999, The Netherlands
Took part in project 'Archisex and Bodybuilding' with 10 Dutch artists. Worked for one month at Fabriek on theme Architecture And Drawing, culminating in group show/installation.

European Ceramics Workshop 1998, The Netherlands
Attended a two months residency at the European Ceramics Workshop in Summer 1998 to work on silk-screening images originating from maps onto ceramic tiles. Awarded a £250 grant towards this trip by South West Arts.

ArtsAcre Artists at Spike Island 1998
Responsible for the fundraising and organisation needed to enable three artists from ArtsAcre Studios in Calcutta to be at the Artspace Launch symposium.

Arts Acre Calcutta Residency 1995/6, India
In December 1996 I worked for three weeks in Arts Acre studios in Calcutta.

South West Arts Visual Arts Award 1994
Awarded a South West Arts Visual Artists award of £1,000 to enable me to explore the use of Photoshop software with reference to my work.

Bristol - Oporto Exchange 1993/4, Portugal
Worked in Oporto, Portugal for four weeks at the end of which exhibited work produced.

Community Arts Work

As of Feb 2003, working with Knowle West Media Centre on a variety of community digital arts projects.

Art Workshops 1989-1996
I have set up a run many art workshops for all ages, including:
- a map making workshop for all ages at Bristol's Industrial Museum
- an art club workshop for 12-13 year olds at the Arnolfini, Bristol
- a map making workshop for 10 year olds at The Create Centre, Bristol
- a map making workshop for 12-14 year olds at The Youth Hostel Association Bristol
- a video project with 10-14 year olds at Patchway Library , Bristol
- a map making day at Patchway Library , Bristol
- an art workshop at Callicroft Primary School, Patchway, Bristol

Information Worker, Priority Youth Housing 1997-Sept 99
Ran a variety of computer / internet based and arts projects for 16-25 year olds with accommodation and support needs, with the aim of helping them to be able to live independently through accessing a range of services such employment/ training advice, drugs/alcohol counselling etc. I built the Priority website (at http://www.priorityyouth.demon.co.uk/ as of august 2001), and encouraged residents to write their own stories for the quarterly newsletters (which I co-ordinated production of) and the website.

Knowle West Map Making Project 1996
One of two artists who co-ordinated a map making project in Knowle West. I worked 6 sessions with approx. 25 children (8-13 year olds) from the area to produce a large map of the area, which has since been on display at the Bristol City Museum.

Editor and Producer, Children and Young People's Services Newsletter 1994-1997
I was the editor/producer of this newsletter for three years. CHYPS is a co-ordinating group for those in the voluntary and statutory sectors working with children and young people.

Soundwell Technical College, taught GNVQ level 2 students Art and Design 1994

Co-Ordinator, The Print Project:1990-1995
I worked as Co-Ordinator for this community graphics facility where I set up a range of courses in graphics, DTP and photography, and taught a wide range of people.

Co-Ordinator, Exploring Patchway Project 1990
I initiated and ran this environmental project based in Patchway, North Bristol. This involved liaising with the local community, setting up meetings, interviewing people, running art workshops for children and adults, fundraising, budgeting and report writing. 1989-1990:

Initiator and Co-Ordinator, Spike Island Project 1989-1990
I initiated and ran this Bristol based local history and arts project. Involved collecting stories of people who used to live in the area years ago, transcribing their stories and producing exhibition which was held at the Industrial Museum in 1990.
